WP5: Training and dissemination

The last objective of the project is to design and develop an accurate teaching and knowledge dissemination program to make sure that the conclusions and recommendations of the project are transmitted to the stake-holders, mainly medical staff, radiation protection officers, dosimetry services and authorities in the field.
The main dissemination activities will be the publication of reports and scientific articles together with the preparation of training material. However, specific activities are foreseen for the different types of stakeholders
To fulfill this objective we have planned:

To contact the stakeholders and corresponding professional associations for which the need for new radiation protection measures has been identified to discuss and inform them at the same time of the main results of the project.
At present contacts have been started with the European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EANM), the European Federation of Organisations in Medical Physics (EFOMP), the European Radiation Dosimetry Group (EURADOS), the European Platform on Training and Education in Radiation Protection (EUTERP)
  • To develop information packages, such as presentation and e-learning modules for distribution through professional organisations and to participate in workshops and scientific meetings to ensure comprehensive dissemination of the main results and conclusions of the project
  • To prepare a video with examples of good practices to reduce the exposure of staff during procedures resulting in potentially large doses and where the behaviour of the surgeon or technician is significant (end 2010)
  • To organise a workshop at the beginning of 2011
